Recent Advances in Photonics and Optics is an open access, peer reviewed, scholarly journal dedicated to publish latest research in science of photon generation, detection, exploitation through emission, transmission, modulation, signal processing, switching, amplification, detection/sensing, behaviour and also the properties of light, including but not limited to study of interactions with matter and the construction of instruments that use or detect it.

Recent Advances in Photonics and Optics content is made available freely to access without any restriction barriers to use and re use under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution License. The journal aims to help liberate research articles and other informative articles to advance scientific discovery as a pioneer of Open Access publishing.

The journal invites various article forms such as original, reviews, rapid communications, mini reviews, perspectives, opinions, and other short articles.
