Dr. Rosemarie Tong is Distinguished Emerita Professor of Health Care Ethics in the Department of Philosophy and formal Director of the Center for Applied and Professional Ethics at UNC Charlotte. Receiving her PhD in Philosophy from Temple University in 1978, she has come to be internationally known for her contributions to feminist thought and bioethics. Dr. Tong has authored and co-edited thirteen books, including Ethics in Policy Analysis (1985), Controlling our Reproductive Destiny: A Technological and Philosophical Perspective (1994), Feminist Approaches to Bioethics (1996), Linking Visions: Feminist Bioethics, Human Rights, and the Developing World with Ann Donchin and Sue Dodds (2004), New Perspectives in Health Care Ethics: An Interdisciplinary and Crosscultural Approach (2007) and Feminist Thought: A More Comprehensive Introduction (2013 4th edition). She has also published over one hundred articles on topics related to feminist theory, reproductive and genetic technology, biomedical research, global bioethics, aging, and healthcare reform. A former Co-Coordiator of the International Association for Feminist Approaches to Bioethics. Dr. Tong, newly retired, remains active in this and other feminist organizations. Her research interest includes genetic and reproductive technology, the challenges of an aging population and biomedical research.

Dr. Katzman was trained at the University of Toronto, first undertaking his B.Sc. in Psychology and Neuroscience, and subsequently his medical training and residency and post- doctoral fellowship. Dr. Katzman’s clinical work deals chiefly with the diagnosis and treatment of adults suffering with mood and anxiety disorders, as well as those suffering with Attention Deficit Disorders, Executive Dysfunction and chronic pain, providing expert diagnostic assessment, and pharmacological treatment as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in both group and individual formats, psychodynamic treatment and Mindfulness Based treatments. As an educator, Dr. Katzman has developed numerous training programs for both students and clinicians in a variety of areas including: Primary care medicine, Psychiatry, Psychology, Social work, Occupational therapy, Nursing, Complementary and alternative medicine as well as for a variety of Support Workers. His research primarily involves examining the psychological manifestations associated with the prefrontal cortex and related associated tracts and organ systems in mood, anxiety and traumatic disorders. The focus of this research has been directed at Hypoprefrontality, Executive Dysfunction, Intolerance of Uncertainty and Low Hedonic Tone as well as the drivers of Motivation and Energy in relation to the development of a variety of comorbidities and treatment resistance. Dr. Katzman is also a founding member of the Board of Directors as well as the founding and current Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Anxiety Disorders Association of Canada/Association Canadienne des Troubles Anxieux (ADAC/ACTA).

Her edited book on Hebrew linguistics within contemporary theories was published by The Hebrew University Magnes Press in 2008. Hatav also published a number of articles that appeared in general linguistics journals as well as journals specifying in Hebrew or Semitic languages. Dr. Galia Hatav research interest includes temporality in language from the point of view of semantics, pragmatics, the interface of semantics and pragmatics and in some sense morphology and syntax. The perspective of her research is mainly theoretical, where the main languages investigated are Biblical Hebrew, English and Modern Hebrew.

His main interest is to understand the fundamental mechanisms of neural coding, in particular the relationship between intrinsic oscillations and spike patterns. He developed these ideas over the years of studying Neuroscience at the Rutgers University (Ph.D.) and during his post-doctoral trainings in electrophysiology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and at the California Institute of Technology. His research areas are spike sequences, neural coding, neural correlates of conscious visual perception and the function and dysfunction of neuronal oscillations in the brain. Currently he is working in the field of human electrophysiology in collaboration with clinical groups at the St. David's hospital, Dell Children's Hospital and University Medical Center at Brackenridge.
