Dr. Xinguo Joe Jiang is a Professor and Vice Dean at University of SouthWest Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Jiang was awarded with the honorable title of Sichuan "100 plan" in the year of 2012, the recipient of youth science and technology foundation of Sichuan Province in 2014, and is the academic leader of the discipline of safety engineering. Dr. Jiang graduated from Michigan State University with a doctoral degree in the field of traffic safety; Dr. Jiang used to work for an international traffic consulting firm and the City of Fort Myers in Florida as a chief traffic engineer. Dr. Jiang owns two important professional licenses: Professional Engineer (PE) issued by Board of PE in the State of Florida and Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) issued by Transportation Professional Certification Board Inc. Dr. Jiang is mainly engaged in the research fields such as traffic safety, low-carbon transportation, Intelligent Transportation System, and comprehensive transportation planning and design. Dr. Jiang is also in charge of translating an English book titled “Urban Transit System and Technology” into Chinese. Dr. Jiang preside over a number of high-profile research projects, which are funded by China National Natural Science Funds, World Bank, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Education, Sichuan Transportation Bureau, etc. Dr. Jiang’s research paper has won the first prize of the international Philip E. Rollhaus traffic essay competition and the second prize of student paper competition in Michigan. Dr. Xinguo Joe Jiang research interest includes quasi-induced exposure, tradable mobility permits, park and ride planning, Safety evaluation.
