Annals of Toxicology

Prof. Yi Charlie Chen is professor of Biology at Alderson Broaddus University. He received his B.S. and M.S. from Zhejiang University in China, and Ph.D. from Washington State University. Prof. Chen is the recipient of the Faculty of the Year Award in 2013. Prof. Chen is currently working on molecular biology of cancer research. Prof. Chen is also working on nanochemoprevention using nanoparticles as a novel approach for cancer control. Prof. Chen has published over 62 different papers and book chapters in a wide range of scientific journals and books. His research has focused on the inhibition of anti-cancer drugs, especially natural compounds, on cancer growth with emphasis on angiogenesis and apoptosis.

Prof. Mahmoud M El-Mas is a Visiting Professor in Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, School of Medicine at East Carolina University. USA. He received his Ph.D in Pharmacology (1990). He is also a professor in Department of Pharmacology, Alexandria University, Egypt. His research interests includes (Cardiovascular and renal neurobiology). This laboratory is principally concerned with the detrimental circulatory and renal influences of drugs of abuse (alcohol and nicotine) and immunosuppressant drugs, cellular and molecular aspects of these interactions, peripheral and central controlling mechanisms, roles of gonadal hormones and sexual dimorphism, and potential therapeutic strategies.

Dr. Darryl B Hood is Associate Professor of Environmental Health Sciences at The Ohio State University, USA. He received his Ph.D in Biomedical Science/Biochemistry at East Tennessee State University (1990). He is Director of Initiative for Environmental-Health Disparities and Medicine. He worked as Professor in Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology, Meharry Medical College and Adjunct Associate Professor in Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. His research interest includes Inhalation Toxicology, Developmental neurobiology, Behavioral neurobiology, Environmental and biochemical toxicology, Dispersion modeling of PAH’s in environmental justice communities, Structural biology, protein structure and function ,Environmental-exposure health assessment questionnaire development, Modeling exposures across lifetime using public health exposome approach.

Dr. Caroline Odewumi is Associate Professor in Department of Biology at Florida A&M University, USA. She received her B.S. in Animal Science at Florida A&M University, M.S. in Animal Science at North Carolina State University, and Ph.D. in Molecular Environmental Toxicology at Florida A&M University (2000). She worked as Assistant Professor in Department of Biology, Florida A&M University. Her research interest includes Toxicological In Vivo and In Vitro Studies of Heavy Metals In Mammalian System.

Dr. Francois Gagne is Associate professor at The University of Rimouski and Senior Research Scientist at Aquatic Contaminants Research Division, Canada. He received his Ph.D from the Environmental Sciences Department of Metz University (1996), and MS in Biochemistry specialized in Molecular & Cellular Toxicology at The University of Quebec (1989). He was involved in various research programs with toxicogenomic application of environment issues such as cumulative effects of climate changes, municipal/industrial effluent ecotoxicity, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, oil sands and rare earth elements. His research interests are in the interaction of xenobiotics at the molecular level in living systems.

Dr. Richard A Bennett is Associate Professor in Department of Biology at University of Southern Indiana, USA. He received his B.S. in Biology at University of Southern Indiana, and Ph.D in Cellular and Molecular Biology at University of Cincinnati (2007). He worked as Assistant Professor in Department of Biology, University of Southern Indiana. He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow with the Air Force Research Lab out of Dayton, Ohio. His research interest includes Cell Biology, Cancer Biology.

Dr. Partha Kasturi is Associate Professor in Department of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Therapeutics at University of Kansas Medical Center, USA. He received his Ph.D in 2001. He worked as Research Assistant in Department of Pathology at Medical College of Wisconsin, Wisconsin. The overall research interest of the laboratory is to understand the role of ATP binding cassette (ABC) transporters in Biology and Medicine. These proteins, found in all species, use the energy of ATP hydrolysis to translocate specific substrates across cell membranes. Most of these transporters play important roles in normal biology and in the therapeutic response to medications.

Dr. Danciu Corina is an Associate Professor and Head of Pharmacognosy Department in Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Romania. Her research interest includes: quantitative and qualitative characterization of vegetal extracts, in vivo and in vitro analysis of pure natural compounds or total extracts for different types of cancer and inflammation. Dr. Danciu Corina has won several awards, 1.The internation inventisalon pro-invent, 14th edition , 23-25 march 2016, Cluj-Napoca, Romania-Diploma of excellents and golden medal; 2.Euro-invent, 19-21 Mai, 2016, Iasi, Romania, Diploma of excellents and golden medal; 3. The international salon of inventions and innovations Traian Vuia, 25-27 May, 2016, Timisoara, Bronse medal.

Dr. Lucija Peterlin Masic is an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. she received her Ph.D in Design and synthesis of new selective peptidomimetic thrombin inhibitors from University of Ljubljana in 2003. After Ph.D degree she continued her research career in two research areas Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicological Chemistry. Research activities: Structure and ligand based drug design, Design and synthesis of novel antibacterial (DNA Gyrase, MUR ligase enzymes), Design and synthesis of ion channels modulators (Kv3), Design and synthesis of novel modulators of the PXR receptor, Toxicological testing in the early drug discovery process, In vitro studies of drug metabolism, Testing compounds acting on nuclear receptors (estrogen, thyroid, androgen, glucocorticoid), Metabolism of xenobiotics and activity studies of their metabolites, Bimolecular mechanism studies of toxicity.

Dr. Olga Zeni is a Research Scientist at CNR-Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment (IREA), Italy. She received her Ph.D degree in in Zootechnical Science, University of Bologna, Italy (1996). She is also working as Co-supervisor of several graduation thesis in Electronic Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, University Federico, Naples, Italy. Dr. Olga Zeni main research interest includes Biological effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields from ELF to microwaves, Genotoxicity and cytotoxicity of chemical mutagens in mammalian cell cultures, Biological effects of co-exposures to electromagnetic fields and chemical/physical agents, Biological effects of THz radiation, Biological effects of nanosecond electric pulses, Cytotoxicity of nanoparticles, Evaluation of the occupational risk from exposure to electromagnetic fields in use for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Time-domain THz spectroscopy for the evaluation of molecular mechanisms underlying mammalian cell electroporation.

Dr. Matheus Mantuanelli Roberto is an Associate Professor in Herminio Ometto University Center, Brazil. He received his Ph.D in Cellular and Molecular Biology. His research interests includes some fields of Toxicology, with emphasis in Ecogenotoxicology, Environmental Assessment and Antimutagenicity based on in vivo and in vitro tests with different biomarkers, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Ecotoxicology, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Ecogenotoxicology, Antimutagenicity.
