Dr. Lucija Peterlin Masic is an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry in the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. she received her Ph.D in Design and synthesis of new selective peptidomimetic thrombin inhibitors from University of Ljubljana in 2003. After Ph.D degree she continued her research career in two research areas Medicinal Chemistry and Toxicological Chemistry. Research activities: Structure and ligand based drug design, Design and synthesis of novel antibacterial (DNA Gyrase, MUR ligase enzymes), Design and synthesis of ion channels modulators (Kv3), Design and synthesis of novel modulators of the PXR receptor, Toxicological testing in the early drug discovery process, In vitro studies of drug metabolism, Testing compounds acting on nuclear receptors (estrogen, thyroid, androgen, glucocorticoid), Metabolism of xenobiotics and activity studies of their metabolites, Bimolecular mechanism studies of toxicity.
