Dr. Pietro Cerveri is working as an Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano. He worked as an Associate Professor from Italian Minister of Education, University and Research at Italy. Dr. Cerveri received his PhD degree in Bioengineering at Politecnico di Milano. In 2008, he was awarded with "Best Innovation Award" at K-Idea - Scientific technological park Kilometro Rosso for "Robotic technologies for the vision in mini-invasive transluminal endoscopic surgery". Dr. Cerveri developed an in-room robotic platform for image-based patient positioning verification, under a National grant, that has been adopted in clinical practice at National Center of Oncologic Hadron-therapy. His research activities concern Human motion analysis and modeling, Computer Vision, Knowledge Representation, Computer Assisted and Robotics Surgery, Medical Signal/Image Processing and Analysis. Dr. Cerveri has recently extended his research interest to the field of oncology where he is investigating new modeling approaches to predict tumor regression response to radiation and chemo-therapy in collaboration with European Institute of Oncology.
