Prof. Evagelia Kontou - Drougka is a Professor in Section of Mechanics at National Technical University of Athens at Greece. She received her Ph.D from National Technical University of Athens in 1985. Prof. Evagelia Kontou - Drougka research interest includes Mechanics and Physics of Polymers and Composites. Study of the thermomechanical behavior of representative polymeric systems, such as thermoset (epoxy resins, polyurethanes), thermoplastics (polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate), polymeric liquid crystals, semi-crystalline polymers (polyethylene, polypropylene). Experimental study and statutory description vulcanized elastomers (reinforced with carbon black, or not). Experimental and theoretical study of nonlinear viscoelasticity. Experimental and theoretical study of the plastic behavior of polymers and polymer composites (fibrous and granular). Recent research interests relating to the study of the polymeric nanocomposite materials, the effect of inclusions on transitions of materials, and the development of a micro-mechanical model for the boosting effect of nanoegkleismaton.
