Weina Liu is a Principal Investigator and Assistant Director of the Key Laboratory of Adolescent Health Assessment and Exercise Intervention of the Ministry of Education of China and an Associate Professor in Human Kinesiology at School of Physical Education & Health Care in East China Normal University. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Human Kinesiology from East China Normal University. She completed her postdoctoral research at Department of Physiology in the Second Military Medical University. Dr. Liu has been the recipient of several awards including the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Key Laboratory Construction Project of Adolescent Health Assessment and Exercise Intervention of Ministry of Education, and the Collaborative Innovation Center of POWER Project for Adolescent. She has served as a reviewer for several scientific journals. Her Research interests includes Depression, Exercise intervention, Antidepressant, Metabolic diseases, Inflammatory response, Mitochondrial dysfunction, Insulin resistance, Type II diabetes mellitus
