Oxana V. Galzitskaya is head of the Bioinformatics group at the Institute of Protein Research Russian Academy of Sciences (since 2008). She graduated from the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute (1990, Honorary Diploma). Ph.D in Biophysics (Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics, Pushchino, 1996). Doctor of Science (Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics, Pushchino, 2006. Author of more 150 peer-reviewed publications. Awarded for Outstanding Russian Young Scientists, 1997 and for Doctor of Science of Russian Science Support Foundation. Member of the Editorial Boards of "Current Protein and Peptide Science", "Open Biochemistry", "Open Bioinformatics", and "Open Journal of Biochemistry", the Editorial Board of World Journal of Biological Chemistry. Area of expertise: protein physics, theoretical and experimental investigations of protein folding (investigation of protein folding and misfolding, prediction of protein disorder and structure prediction, prediction of amyloidogenic regions and folding rates), molecular biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics, search for factors triggering induction of amyloidosis in Alzheimer's disease.
