Dr. Juan Jesús Cruz Hernández is currently the Head of the Medical Oncology Service at the University Hospital of Salamanca, Coordinator of Cancer Area of the Institute of Biomedical Research of Salamanca (IBSAL), Director of Program of Master in Supportive Care and Palliative Care in Oncology Patient at University of Salamanca, Chair of the Department of Medicine for within the School of Medicine, University of Salamanca. Dr. Cruz is an European recognized expert in the area of head and neck cancer. His special area of work has been in the combined induction treatment of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and the incorporation of new agents in head and neck tumors, contributing to the establishment of standard therapy in head and neck cancer, locally advanced and recurrent / metastatic. He is an active member of TTCC which is responsible for the development of several clinical trials. Dr. Cruz has published more than 200 articles, and 60 book chapters, mainly on the topics of induction chemotherapy, organ preservation, and clinical research. His main field of interest is in areas concern prognostic factors, clinical and translational research with new drugs, studies on the interaction of chemotherapy and radiation therapy in Head and Neck Cancer. His research is in clinical head and neck cancer and in translational and early clinical research.
