Dr. Byungchan Han is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering of Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. He received his Ph.D degree in MIT at the Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering in 2007. He obtained Bachelor and Master degree from the Dept. of Nuclear Engineering of Seoul National University. He was introduced as 10 most leading young scientists in Korea, and a deputy Director of the Joint Research Center between DGIST and Lawrence-Berkeley National Laboratory. He was awarded a medal from International Advanced Association of Materials, and got an excellent research award at Yonsei University in 2016. His research interests are developing emerging energy materials for renewable energy devices such as fuel cells and Li-ion batteries using first principles computational materials science. Recently he is also working for the pyroprocessing technology to recycle spent nuclear fuels.
