Abstract: Patient education is a learning process which intends to determine the problems about health, to bring the health improvement behavior and to make a person in a state of exact well-being. There are many learning options for patient education. Patient education programs which have been conducted face to face until a few years ago are now conducted in a widespread way thanks to the developments in technology.

Abstract: The patients and their relatives today are well educated and have better awareness of their medical conditions and rights. This narrowed information and knowledge gap between the patients and the healthcare workers have increased the expectation that they be informed of any adverse events in a truthful and timely manner.
