Professor Kyoung-Woong Kim is a Professor of the School of Earth Sciences and Environmental Engineering at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) in Korea. Prof. Kim has been involved at GIST since 1997 and working on the projects in the field of the remediation and monitoring of contaminated soil/ground water from Southeast Asia countries including Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. His current research focuses on the development of safe drinking water filtration systems especially for the disaster areas caused from climate change such as South Pacific region (e.g. Fiji and Tuvalu) and Mongolia. He has got his Ph.D at the Centre for Environmental Technology at Imperial College London in the UK and MSc & BSc at the Department of Petroleum & Mineral Engineering from Seoul National University in Korea.
