Dr. Earl R Bud Cooper position with the University of Georgia is Associate Clinical Professor, Clinical Coordinator for Athletic Training, Program Coordinator for the Master’s degree in Strength, Conditioning and fitness, and the Program Director for Study Abroad programs to Taiwan and Scotland. Dr. Cooper has been a practicing athletic trainer for over 35 years. His experiences range from interscholastic, intercollegiate, professional and a variety of health care settings. For the last 12 years, Dr. Cooper has been active in research concerning the effects of stressful environmental conditions on the health of American football participants. His research has been funded by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, The National Athletic Trainers’ Association Research and Education Foundation and the National Federation of High Schools. This research has generated the single largest data-base of EHI occurrences in the country and has been instrumental in the practice policy revision for the Georgia High School Association’s football practice guidelines. Dr. Cooper has lectured internationally, nationally, regionally and to state audiences concerning his research efforts.
