Dr. Ayman Mohamed is an Assistant professor in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Istanbul Gelisim University, Istanbul, Turkey. He has extensive teaching, research, and clinical experiences. Ayman Mohamed received his Ph.D. from Rehabilitation Engineering Lab at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). During his Ph.D he learned the use of different assessment tools in the field of kinesiology and physiotherapy. These devices included ultrasonography, laser Doppler, EMG, ECG, Pressure mat, and foot pressure. Also, He took different workshops about research conduction and writing and the use of innovation in teaching. Ayman Mohamed has extensive academic experience as he has taught several courses including Electrotherapy, Hydrotherapy, Therapeutic Exercises, Kinesiology, Manual Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation, Geriatric Rehabilitation, and Occupational Therapy. Furthermore, Ayman has an incredible clinical history because he has 16 years of clinical experience in different in-patient and out-patient facilities. He diagnosed and treated several musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. He has developed two new directions in the field of Physical Therapy. The first direction is a technique called Dynamic Scapular Recognition Exercise to reduce the shrug sign usually develops in patients with frozen shoulder. The second one is targeting the proprioceptors as sensory receptors of muscle fatigue to decrease the incidence of muscle fatigue. The third one is using the passive cable theory to decrease the hypersensitivity of nociceptors commonly presents in patients with chronic pain.
