Dr. Marija Romic is a Professor in the Department of Soil Amelioration, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Dr. Romic received her M.S. in the field of soil chemistry 1992 and Ph.D. in soil geochemistry in 2002. Her research interests include physical and chemical processes and analytical procedures in environmental studies of soil and sediments, water and plant material, assessment of soil quality with combined pedological, numerical and geostatistical approaches for identification and mapping of sensitive and vulnerable areas, and of areas polluted with inorganic contaminants which might be reclaimed, natural resources favouring fertility and the protection of soil quality.
