Prof. David A Hovda is Professor in Departments of Neurosurgery and Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at University of California, Los Angeles, USA. He is the Director of the UCLA Brain Injury Research Center. He is Past President of the National Neurotrauma and International Neurotrauma Societies. He received his Ph.D in Psychology, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque (1985). Prof. Hovda has received a number of awards for his research on brain injury and recovery of function. Prof. Hovda is most well known internationally for his translational work on the pathobiology of traumatic brain injury.
