Dr. Bruce Gaynes is Clinical Assistant Professor and Clinical Research Program Director in Department of Ophthalmology at Loyola University,Maywood, IL. He holds doctorate degrees in both pharmacy and optometry as well as a graduate degree in pharmacology from the Indiana University Medical Sciences Program. He holds a joint appointment at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Hines, IL and Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology, Maywood, IL. Dr. Gaynes worked as Assistant Professor of Optometry in Indiana University, School of Optometry at Bloomington, Indiana and then as Chief of Optometry Service in Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center Allen Park, Michigan. He is now Lecturer in Department of Ophthalmology at Rush University Medical Center and Adjunct Assistant Professor in College of Pharmacy at University of Illinois. Dr. Gaynes research interests include development of new therapies for conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, all of which contribute to substantial visual impairment world-wide.
