Dr. Ying-Yong Zhao is Professor in Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at The School of Life Sciences in Northwest University, China. Dr. Zhao obtained his Ph.D., MD and Postdoc degree from Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at The School of Life Sciences in Northwest University, China. He worked as Lecturer, Postdoc Supervisor and then as an Associate Professor in the same university. He received several awards including National Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Nomination Award and New Century Excellent Talents in University from Ministry of Education of China, The Pharmaceutical Society of China Award for Young Scientists in 2012 (Sanofi Young biological drugs Award), The Pharmacological Society of China Award for Young Scientists in 2011 (Fifteenth SERVIER Youth Pharmacology Award) and The Ninth Youth S&T Awards of Shaanxi in 2012. Dr. Zhao's areas of expertise include structural elucidation of chemical components, phytochemical components analysis, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and metabolomics from natural medicine. He also studies the oxidative stress, inflammation, and pro-fibrotic pathways of chronic kidney disease and tubulointerstitial diseases, molecular biology of kidney gene expression.
