Dr. Yang received his B.S. from the School of Gannan Medical College in Jiangxi in 2003. He received his M.S. in 2006 and his Ph.D. in 2010 from Guangzhou Medical University in Guangzhou, China. In 2007, he joined Yu-Jui Yvonne Wan's lab in University of Kansas Medical Center to study molecular biology of the liver cancer. After two years, he worked as postdoctoral fellow in Wan’s lab. In 2010, Dr. Yang was recruited by the Department of Gastroenterology of the Second Affiliated Hospital in Guangzhou Medical University. His studies focus on the molecular mechanisms of HDACi antitumor effects and the pathophysiology of the liver with specific interests in understanding the mechanism underlying the development of metabolic syndromes, fatty liver, fibrosis, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. The goal is to identify potential therapeutic targets in the prevention and treatment of liver disease.
