Dr. Xiaoming Zhang is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. He worked as an Associate Consultant Research in the Department of Dermatology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Dr. Zhang received his Post Doctoral Fellowship from Harbin Engineering University. He has received Young Faculty Creative Award, National Science Foundation Award etc. Dr. Zhang has developed novel techniques using ultrasound, acoustics and optics to measure tissue elasticity noninvasively. These approaches have substantial potential for clinical use in assessing tissue diseases in a safe, noninvasive, quantitative, and cost-effective manner. His research interests are in biomedical engineering, biomechanics, ultrasound, acoustics, elastography, imaging, instrumentation, clinical translational research, noninvasive techniques for assessing tissue disease.
