Dr. Joaquim C G Esteves da Silva is Full Professor of Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Sciences of the University in Portugal. He worked as Associated Professor in Faculty of Sciences at University of Portugal in 1998. He also worked as Auxiliary Professor in Faculty of Sciences at University of Portugal in 1994. He has supervised 14 PhD Thesis and 39 MSc Thesis. Dr. Silva's main fields of interest are :bioluminescence/chemiluminescence systems; green synthesis of luminescence nanomaterials, mainly carbon based nanoparticles, and corresponding environmental nanosensor development; up-conversion luminescent nanomaterials; theoretical research on environmental pollutants/human interactions; pollen/air pollutants interaction and human health; chlorine disinfection and disinfection by products of water containing UV filters and pharmaceuticals; reactivity of natural organic matter in water and soil; pollutants in humans and health risk assessment.
