Professor Zhen-Yu Tian received Ph.D. degree from University of Science and Technology of China, majoring in Engineering Thermophysics. He was a CNRS and Alexander von Humboldt Fellow. After as a group leader in Bielefeld University, he is currently a professor in the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, leading projects financialized by NSFC, CAS, Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and CSC-DAAD. Professor Tian’s current research interests include the combustion chemistry with respect to the following topics: 1) Combustion kinetics, covering the laminar flames, low-temperature oxidation, model establishment and simulation of aviation fuels; 2) In-situ combustion diagnostics, namely conventional and novel diagnostic techniques such as MBMS, DRIFTS and other spectroscopies for the identification of active intermediates and monitoring related parameters; 3) Catalytic combustion, containing the facile syntheses of efficient catalysts and their wide applications. Up to March, 2016, Professor Tian has published over 80 peer-reviewed journal papers with ~1000 SCI citations. Moreover, Professor Tian is an editor board member of the Journal of Combustion Science and Technology, invited editor of Journal of Combustion and Current Nanoscience, member of the Combustion Institute, Roal Socity of Chemistry and Chinese Chemical Society and a reviewer of more than 22 international journals.
