Dr. Douglas Boyd Ph.D. is a commercial/IFR single/multi engine land certified pilot and type rated in a Citation 500. Dr. Boyd researches the causes and trends in general aviation accidents and his studies are published in peer reviewed journals including amongst others, Accidents Analysis and Prevention and Aviation, Space and Environmental Medicine and the Journal of Aviation Technology and Engineering. He is also a regular contributor of articles to the IFR Refresher aviation magazine. Dr. Boyd is a member of the Aerospace Medical Association safety committee, chairs the Resolution Committee of that organization and is also a representative of the FAA Safety Team (FAAST).
