Abstract: In the United Kingdom (UK), prostate cancer (PCa) is a significant health concern, with over 50,000 new cases reported annually. Prostate cancer now accounts for almost 26% of all new cancers in UK males. In 2023, PCa accounted for almost 13% of all cancer deaths, making PCa the second most common cause of cancer death in males. The high mortality rate is often attributed to late-stage diagnoses, rendering the disease incurable in many patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate, in an independent retrospective patient cohort, a biomarker-based prostate cancer risk score (PCRS) for prostate health screening.
