Abstract: Nora lesion is a rare benign disease of parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation typically affecting the hand and feet, with notoriously high recurrence rates. Since its discovery, only few cases have been reported sporadically in the literature. No histological confirmed cases of this rare lesion have been reported yet in Hong Kong. We present a case of Nora lesion of the hand to demonstrate its clinical, radiological and histological features. Our case is highlighted by its diagnostic challenges pre-operatively as it mimicked a giant cell tumour of tendon sheath, as well as its correct identification intra-operatively followed by complete excision and decortication.

Abstract: Bone loosening is a widespread challenge faced by patients who have undergone posterior spinal fusion surgery. While replacing the loosened screw with a larger one is a possibility, this approach necessitates a significant surgical intervention that requires general anesthesia and involves the complete disassembly of the instrument.

Abstract: Heterotopic ossification is a rare but a debilitating situation. It occurs in patients who have undergone paralysis and/or immobilization. Hip osteoma is one of the most frequent locations and associated to a significant functional handicap. Its treatment is based on surgical resection which is a risky surgery and not deprived of complications such as infections, hematoma and recurrence. We describe in this paper a new surgical technique which adds to the classic hip osteoma resection a guidance with a navigation system coupled to a 3D imaging tool. We performed this technique in 2 patients (3 hips, 1 bilateral case). We think that this technique makes the surgery safer and lower the complication.

Abstract: Autologous bone graft treated with liquid nitrogen is an option for biological reconstruction of bone defects in patients receiving tumor resection. This is the first report in Hong Kong on the outcome of this biological reconstruction in terms of functional outcome, local recurrence rate, and prognosis.

Abstract: The inferior gemellus is a muscular structure rather than tendinous unlike the obturator internus. It therefore almost always tears due to retraction to expose the hip joint when performing the SPAIRE approach. Therefore, we propose a Modified SPAIRE technique.

Abstract: Deltoid ligament is injured in bimalleolar equivalent fractures. Though its acute repair is controversial, some recent studies have shown that anatomical reduction of the talus in the ankle mortise via deltoid repair in bimalleolar equivalent fractures correlates with better clinical outcomes. Various techniques used for Deltoid repair have relied on repairing the ligament after fibular fixation +/- syndesmostic repair. We are presenting a technique, where the fixation starts medially first, exploiting the widened medial tibiotalar clear space. This facilitates anatomic repair of both the superficial and deep components of deltoid ligament. In addition, it allows a thorough lavage of the joint and removal of loose fragments from the joint as necessary.
