Abstract: The present work aims to provide key knowledge on vegetation structure, root biomass distribution and soil carbon stock of savanna agrosystems in Sudano-Sahelian zone of Cameroon. The transect method is used to carry out the investigations in order to characterize the vegetation. The excavation method was used to soil and roots sampling. The experimental device used is the split plot. These results showed that the highest densities were recorded in Anogeissus leiocarpus stands (408 ± 11.12 stems/ha).

Abstract: This work highlights the critical role of deadwood in maintaining balance within forest ecosystems and in conserving biodiversity associated with it. Thus the general objective of this work was the quantification of carbon in dead wood biomass of savannah ecosystems in Northern region Cameroon. The investigations were made by the transect method. The experimental device using was a split plot. The results obtained showed that the highest standing deadwood and soil carbon stock was observed in arborescent savannah

Abstract: Cotinus coggygria Scop. is widely used in ethnopharmacology such as antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, hepatoprotective, as well as for countering diarrhea, gastric and duodenal ulcers. Total phenols, flavonoids and tannins were determined as the main group of biologically active compounds. Tannins, however, have proven mutagenic in different studies. Also, methanol extract of C. coggygria induced sex-linked recessive lethal mutations on the X-chromosome of Drosophila melanogaster males.
