Exploring Advanced Nuclear Fusion Techniques for Interplanetary Travel

Authors: Alan Peter Garfoot

Abstract: The potential for controlled nuclear fusion as a thrust propulsion method for human interplanetary travel offers an intriguing solution to the challenges of long-duration space travel. This research article delves into the theoretical and practical aspects of using lasers to heat hydrogen and magnets to pressurise for the triggering of nuclear fusion [1]. By exploring the correlation between the roles of heat and pressure in stellar nuclear fusion, this theoretical theory building piece of research proposes a novel fusion initiation method using laser-induced heating combined with positive magnetic field concentration along an exhaust funnel of flow, [2].

Investigation on the Excitation Function of Alpha-Induced Reaction on 116-Cd in the Energy Range between 15 and 40 Mev

Authors: Gemechu Feyisa Yadeta

Abstract: In this work, the alpha particle-induced reaction on Cadmium-116 in the energy range 20-40 MeV has been studied. The excitation function for the following reaction channels of this type have been studied in the energy range of 15 MeV-40 MeV are; 48-Cd-116(α, n) 50-Sn-119. This reaction has a total number of exciton six, number of neutron one and number of holes also one. 48-Cd-116(α, 2n + p) 49-In-117. In this reaction (TD = 10, Ex1 = 3 and Ex2 = 3). 48-Cd-116(α, 3n) 50-Sn-117. The exciton number of this reaction is (TD = 10, Ex1 = 3 and Ex2 = 3) 48-Cd-116(α, 3n + p) 49-In-116. It has an exciton number of (TD = 12 Ex1 = 4 and Ex2 = 4) 48-Cd-116(α, n + α) 48-Cd-115.

Investigation of Gamma Attenuation Property of Different Brands of Quartz Samples Used for Wall Cladding in Ethiopia as a Function of Two Gamma Energies 59.6kev and 662kev

Authors: Gemechu Feyisa Yadeta

Abstract: The gamma-ray shielding ability of different brands of quartz used for cladding the exterior walls of residential and non-residential buildings has been investigated at 59.6 KeV, and 662 KeV gamma-energies. To this end, linear attenuation coefficient (µ), Half-value layer (HVL), and Tenth-value layer (TVL), and of the five Quartz brands were obtained. Based on those parameters, QD quartz brand is the highest attenuating brand of the other (2.781 cm -1 , and 0.3657 cm -1 ), the QD brands offer these thickness to reduce the intensity by half, HVL (0.249 cm, and 1.896 cm), and TVL (0.8279 cm, and 6.289 cm) at the two gamma energies 0.596 MeV, and 0.662 MeV respectively.

Development of a Stationary Chomatography Radionuclide Generator of Technetium-99M

Authors: Ulugbek T Ashrapov, Saydakhmat S Khujaev and Ilkham I Sadikov

Abstract: Radionuclide technetium-99m is used for diagnostics and scintigraphy (scanning) of the thyroid and salivary glands, brain, and radionuclide angiocardiography, and also ventriculography. For example, myocardial perfusion scanning plays an important role in diagnosing and making therapeutic decisions in heart disease. For example, technetium-99m sestamibi or technetium-99m tetrofosmin radiopharmaceuticals are often used to scan myocardial perfusion in SPECT (single photon ejection computed tomography) techniques.
