The five fertility levels were: F0: No fertilizer; F0: 25% of recommended fertilizer dose; F2: 50% of recommended fertilizer dose; F3: 75% of recommended fertilizer dose, and F4: Recommended fertilizer dose. The three soil profiles were D1: 0-20 cm; D2: 20-40 cm and D3: 40-60 cm.
