Patient who is able to sit for 1 minute without back and hand for support. Patient cannot walk, or requires help of two or more people

Dependent walker

Patient requires firm continuous support from one person who helps carrying weight and with balance

Assisted walker

Patient needs continuous or intermittent support of one person to help with balance or coordination

Supervised walker

Patient requires verbal supervision or standby help from one person without physical contact

Indoor walker

Patient can walk independently on level ground, but requires help on stairs, slopes, or uneven surfaces
