Prof. Dong ik Kim is a Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. He received his Ph.D. in 1995 from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. From 1994 Prof. Kim started to work at the Samsung Medical Center and is currently working at this institute and is also a professor of Sungkyunkwan Medical School (Korea). In 2002 he worked as a visiting professor at Oregone Health Science university in USA. Prof. Dong ik Kim's research interests includes Stem cell, Angiogenesis, Vascular surgery, Carotid surgery. In recent years he has been researching therapeutic angiogenesis using stem cells, tissue engineering of vascular prosthetic graft, pathogenesis of intimal hyperplasia, pathogenesis of Buerger's disease, and pathogenesis of atherosclerosis.
